Christmas Eve with the Thurrotts!

Mark and Kelly spent their first Christmas together this year and the festivities began with a Christmas Eve dinner with Gram and Grandpa.

Mark became a brother at 12:03 a.m. today when Kelly Amanda Thurrott was born! Kelly arrived almost 4 weeks early, but weighed 7 pounds 10 ounces and was 20.5 inches long, so we can't really call her "premature." Here are the first pictures of Mark's new sister!

Mark dressed up as a big dinosaur and scared the neighborhood into coughing up some candy. But he was more excited to give out candy later, from home, where he called out to people on the street to come on by.

Our ISP experienced a bizarre and fatal hard drive crash that kept thurrott.com offline for a few weeks while we went through old backups to resuscitate the site. We're back now, though!

Vermont Vacation!

Mark joined Mommy and Daddy for a week in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom. Mark played on the beach, went swimming, went to the top of a mountain, rode on a boat, and visited Canada!

The worst blizzard since the fabled Blizzard of '78 rocked the Boston area in early March, causing Mark to miss two days of school. It was the first time Dedham had ever cancelled school a day early, and they did it two days in a row. Here are some pictures from the storm, which included fallen branches, heavy, wet snow, and whiteouts.
