Twitter PWA Picks Up Night Mode, More

Twitter announced this week that it has updated its Progressive Web App (PWA) to support night mode, real-time updates, and more.

The announcement came, as it should, via a tweet.

“We are rolling out [new] features to Twitter Lite and Twitter for Windows to provide more consistency across platforms,” Twitter revealed last night.

To be clear, these changes impact the PWA versions of Twitter that are available on the web (at mobile.twitter.com) and via the Microsoft Store on Windows 10.

New features include:

 • Night mode. Probably the app’s most-requested feature.
 • Real-time updates on reply, Retweet, and like counts. Previously, you need to scroll or otherwise refresh to see these changes.
 • Updated Tweet compose box. This one is pretty subtle, but it fixes a weird display issue where your typed text was jammed up against the left of the edit window.

In reply to briantlewis:

Just click the "Home" icon at the top left, and then click it again. That will update the view with your most current feed.

Sweet, Night Mode fixes a major issue that I had with Twitter app. Now, if it only had tab support.
