Amazon’s Now Putting Alexa on Glasses and Rings

Okay, look. Amazon’s Alexa is basically everywhere. It’s probably on your speaker, you can even get clocks with Alexa built-in, Alexa on your oven, Alexa on your ears and now, Alexa on your fingers.

Amazon just launched two new Day One Edition products — a line that the company uses to test customer demand and get feedback on interesting new ideas.

The first of the new products is the Echo Frames, Amazon’s new Alexa-enabled glasses that let you access Alexa wherever you go. It doesn’t have a built-in display or anything, but it’s a pretty crazy idea. It only weighs 31 grams, and you can even get it with your prescribed lenses.

And then there’s the Echo Loop, a ring with Alexa built-in. The device has 2 microphones built-in, and the smallest speaker ever on an Echo device. It also has a built-in haptic engine that notifies you when you get calls and texts on your phone. You can press the button on the ring to speak to Alexa, and just like the Echo Frames, this is pretty crazy, too. It’s obviously not nice to look at because of the size, though.

Both the Echo Frames and Echo Loop will be available in limited volumes. The Echo Frames will cost $179.99, while the Echo Loop will cost $99.99. They are available by invites only.
