Apple Fixes watchOS 5.1’s Bricking Issue With New Update

Last week, Apple released watchOS 5.1 with new emoji, improvement to Fall Detection on the Watch Series 4, and more. The update was fairly minor, though it didn’t go as expected.
As soon as Apple released watchOS 5.1, users started reporting issues with their device while updating to watchOS 5.1. The update apparently started bricking Watch Series 4 devices, forcing Apple to soon pull the update from its servers.

The company has now continued the rollout of watchOS 5.1, but this time as 5.1.1. The update to watchOS 5.1 likely comes with a fix for the bricking issue, which will make sure your Watch doesn’t get bricked when trying to update to the new version.
And if your device is already bricked, you will have to get it serviced by Apple to get the device back up and running. Yes, I know.

Premium Member<p>I love how the amount of outrage about this being released to everyone, not just early adopters, is so much less for Apple than Microsoft. I mean, who wouldn't rather deal with a week or two round trip for their device to be sent to apple for a refurbished replacement instead of restoring a small amount of data from a backup?!?</p>
