Lets see…..performance is more than enough for 97% of apps people actually use on a iPad. It keeps the cost down. It is probably smaller and taxes the battery less. If smaller it probably produces less heat.

In reply to Bats:

Privacy first is the reason I like them. Smartphone tech for me peaked a few years ago when I got my iPhone X. I have a 256gig iPhone and I am using just over 16gig. All my stuff is in the cloud and my phone could burn up and I simply get a new one and login to the cloud.

My phone does a specific set of things for me really well, and everything else less so. Example if I want to take a really nice photo….I use a really nice camera.

I do not live on my phone like most do. To me they are like Microwave ovens, everyone has one, and they all basically do the same thing.

Too bad they run Android, which IMHO is pure garbage with Google data collection/privacy invasion slathered all over it.

I will never own a Mac again, Apple ruined them for me. Huge fan of Windows 10 and ThinkPad T-series laptops. I do however very much like the iOS world and the family (extended on both sides)) own iPhones, iPad's, Apple TV's, Apple Music and even Home Pod's, multiple Home Pod's. That eco system works and works really well. Microsoft supports it very well also.
