16-inch MacBook Pro Launch Expected Tomorrow

What's Up with Apple's Resistance to Multi-touch Macs?

After months of wait, Apple might finally be launching its new MacBook Pro tomorrow. The company’s 16-inch MacBook Pro has been rumored for a long, long time now, and it might be just around the corner.

The new laptop has been in the news since February of this year, and it was later rumored to have been delayed till 2021. Recent reports claimed Apple was planning to release the device at a hardware event in October, while others claimed Apple had shifted the released till early 2020. The event in October hasn’t happened, obviously, but Apple reportedly held private press briefings for the new 16-inch MacBook Pro this week.

And now, Bloomberg is reporting that Apple is launching the new MacBook Pro “as early as” Wednesday. The new device will come with a revamped keyboard design that’s more reliable than Apple’s problematic butterfly keyboard design. Apple’s new 16-inch MacBook Pro will replace the 15-inch MacBook Pro while costing “about the same” as the 15-inch model.

The new device is also expected to feature louder speakers. So yes, if you have long been waiting for a MacBook Pro with a decent keyboard like me, tomorrow might be the day. And for Mac Pro fans, Bloomberg says Apple’s new Mac Pro is launching this December.

The touchbar is still a massive gimmick and people are jumping backwards to adopt it just because it comes from Apple.

I'm more interested in your $200 worth of dongles! Care to list them? I don't see how you can get to $200 unless you bought multiple separate ones rather than one nice hub.

there's no way they release this without addressing the keyboard, I/O, and touchbar complains right?

I love how going back to the keyboard from four versions ago that actually worked is euphemised as "improved" and "revamped".

In reply to MikeGalos:

This is not the keyboard from four years ago, which I'm typing on now, but rather an improved version of that mechanism which provides for a thinner case than was possible before. Case thickness with was the primary goal of the butterfly keyboards. They sucked and I refused to buy one. These reworked keyboards only resulted in only a .7mm increase so they've thankfully gone back and added improvements such as the ability to fix individual keys rather than the entire keyboard or top case as had been the case.

Does that help?

In reply to SvenJ:

LOL…me too! We don't even use cables to connect to our conference room systems anymore. Other than a few archive drives at home I NEVER plug anything into my computer other at the office or while traveling. My co-worker has a new MBP and carries a nice $40 hub with USB, card reader, ethernet, HDMI, etc., but I've never seem her use it.
