Tip: Personalize Chrome with Google’s Colorful New Themes

Why Google didn’t offer these years ago is unclear, but the firm released 12 colorful new themes for its Chrome web browser this week.

I know. This isn’t rocket science, or profound in any way.

But for those who aren’t big fans of Chrome’s single color scheme—and don’t want to wait for official Dark theme support in a future release—these themes will help you customize your most-often-used app more to your liking.  So this is absolutely worth knowing about.

The new themes are available on the Chrome Web Store and come directly from Google, or as it notes, “with love from the Chrome team.”

Enjoy!

<p>With love. lol. Its porbably the same love as took the Windows 10 Mail team four years for a feature called "default font". </p>

<p>Bonus Tip: there have been hundreds if not thousands of Chrome themes available for years, directly from the Chrome Web Store linked above. Just change the Category to "All" and go nuts. My favorite is a brushed metal theme.</p>

<p>Nice to have some official Google themes for those who are weirded out by using 3rd party extensions/themes.</p>

<p>back in my Firefox days (pre-2015) i used to love picking a new theme every week. But for some reason i just like leaving Chrome (and everything else) as my system theme. To each his own, but for me, a differently themed application feels out of place. Best leave everything on system theme. Again, for me.</p>

<p>"<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Why Google didn’t offer these years ago is unclear…" They did! Years ago! I remember! I used one because I didn't like the way how the default (blue) theme look on my Windows XP desktop at work. </span></p>
