Slack is revealing a major redesign this week as the company aims to make its service simpler to use. The updated Slack design is rolling out to all users this week.
The new design makes it easier to organize everything, which was a key problem with those who have lots of things going on within their Slack teams. “These changes address a basic challenge that has grown naturally with Slack: with size comes complexity,” said Slack designers in a blog post detailing the new redesign.Â

The new Slack design makes some key changes to the sidebar of the app. There is now a universal compose button that users can use to send a message from anywhere — you can start a new conversation, send messages to existing channels, etc.
There’s also now the ability to organize channels, messages, and apps into custom, collapsible sections — just like folders. This is the main big change on the latest Slack reading, and it makes it much easier to organize your chats when you have so many things going on.

Slack says the company will continue to roll out the new design over the next few weeks, and it also plans to release an improved design on the mobile app soon.
