Grammarly Comes to Word for Mac, Word Online

The Grammarly writing service is now available directly in Microsoft Word on the Mac and on the web, the firm announced this morning.

“Grammarly for Microsoft Word has been available for some time, but until now, it was only compatible with the Windows version of Word,” the Grammarly announcement notes. “We heard loud and clear that you needed a Mac version, so we’ve been hard at work to make that happen. And if you’re a fan of Word Online, we’re happy to tell you that Grammarly now works there, too! “

On the Mac and web, Grammarly’s writing suggestions will appear in Word on the right as you write, providing feedback as you go. “You’ll see suggestions for making your writing clearer, improving your word choice, and polishing your writing in all kinds of exciting ways—absolutely no copying and pasting required,” the company says.

You can download Grammarly for Windows or Mac from the Grammarly website. I believe that Word Online simply requires you to have the extension installed in your browser, as is the case with Google Docs.

I use Grammarly and recommend it highly.

I'm also a big Grammarly user myself. I wonder how Editor is going to stack up.

Was excited to see that it was available, but it doesn't appear in AppSource (following the instructions from Grammarly). Does anyone have a direct link?

UPDATE: Found it but all users are reporting (including myself) that it cannot be installed. Appears to be a problem on the Microsoft side, but there is no official reply yet.

UPDATE 2: Apparently, it will not install for versions of Word that will installed via Apple's App Store. It needs a version that has been installed via traditional means.
