Tip: Get Office 365 Home for Just $55

Microsoft is Bringing Outlook.com Premium Features to Office 365

Amazon is hosting a one-day sale on Office 365 Home. So you have to move quickly if you want to save big.

Here’s the deal. (Yes, it’s an affiliate link, thanks.)

To be clear, this is for 12 months of Office 365 Home, which can be used by up to six people in your family. It’s only available in “download” form, meaning that you’re not getting a physical product key in the mail.

And yes, there are caveats: It’s US-only, sorry. And you can’t give it as a gift.

But with Office 365 Home normally costing $100 per year, this is almost half off. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen the price this low before. That’s lower than the normal price of Office 365 Personal, which only works for one user.

Thanks to Paul Hepworth for the tip via email.

In reply to dcdevito:

Sometimes you can stack these and it just pushes out your renewal date another year.

This does indeed up your subscription for a year on top of what is left on your current subscription. What a deal!

How does this Amazon subscription work with an existing subscription from Microsoft? Is it a serial number that can be applied in 6 months or how does it connect to the Microsoft account?

In reply to DataMeister:

When you purchase it, it links you to office.com and verifies your account, if you have an existing subscription it pushes out your renewal 1 year.

Wow – that was easy.

I already have an Amazon account and a Microsoft Office 365 Home account.

About a dozen clicks and it extended my subscription from 2/1/2019 to 2/1/2020

And – yes – it's the online storage that led me to start using Microsoft 365 Home subscription.

Thanks, Paul. Note that the O365 Personal (1 user) download is available for almost the same relative discount: $39.99 for 12 months. Might as well save the $15 if you’re a single PC user….
