Xbox One S All Digital Edition…Is Headed to GameStop

When Microsoft announced the All Digital Edition of the Xbox One, the company was signaling that discs were a thing of the past and it’s time to embrace the digital future. For retailers, this was a troubling sign as they have historically relied heavily on retail game sales to bring customers into the stores.

Even though the success of the All Digital Edition isn’t known, based on the pricing, many assume that it has not been a huge success. After all, the MSRP of $249.99 put it too close to an Xbox One S with a disc drive that was often selling below its MSRP thanks to various sales.

The last place I thought that would be offering the digital-only version of the Xbox One S is GameStop. The retailer is trying to transition its establishment after traditional game-sales have eroded which means embracing the digital future: GameStop will start selling the All-Digital Edition as soon as this week at its stores.

The image you see in this post was sent by an industry insider and it shows that GameStop is about to carry a new bundle of the digital console. This console will include Minecraft, Sea of Thieves and Fortnite bundled with the hardware. In addition, 2000 V-bucks (Fortnite in-game currency) and a player-skin will also be included.

The bundle will sell for $249.99 and should be available as early as this week; you will need to check with your local GameStop. While the price isn’t too bad, it’s also not an outstanding deal either, unless you are buying it for FortNite as the V-Bucks MSRP for about $20 which does make it a bit more palatable.
