Microsoft Begins Testing Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary on PC

Microsoft announced this week that those testing the Master Chief Collection on PC now have access to Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary.

“We’ve kicked off the latest round of flighting for MCC with Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary!” the Halo Support Twitter account tweeted last night. “If you received an invite, you’ll want to check out Halo Support for the list of known issues, self-help guides, and ticket submissions. See you on the battlefield!”

Based on that tweet, it appears that you’ll need to be invited into the Halo Insider Program before you can test this coming title, which was the first Halo game released (and was one of the few originally released on PC). You can do so here.

As you may recall, Microsoft announced that it was bringing the entire Halo: Master Chief Collection to the PC in remastered form, and that it would release each game, in turn, as they were improved. The interesting wrinkle here is that they’re remastering the games in chronological order, but by in-game chronology, not the original release chronology. So the game Halo: Reach was released first, and the original Halo, called Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, will be released next.
