Microsoft has not commented on this publicly, but a single report is claiming that the firm has delayed Crackdown 3 for Xbox One yet again.

Crackdown 3 will now be out in 2019, according to two people familiar with the game’s release plans,” a report in Kotaku states. “It’s an unusual move and another blow to Xbox’s already weak first-party lineup for the rest of 2018.”

Rumors of a new Crackdown 3 delay have been popping up for months, and Microsoft had already delayed the game twice previously; it was announced in 2014 (!) and was originally supposed to arrive in November 2017.

Just a week ago, however, Microsoft denied that it was delaying Crackdown 3. Well, sort of. When a fan tweeted that his preorder of the game was canceled, Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg said on Twitter that “the team continues to work hard on the game for our fans.” But he never followed-up on the many questions that ensued.

In any event, Kotaku says that the vague new schedule is “spring 2018” and that the delay was triggered by unspecified but severe development struggles.

Microsoft’s E3 press conference happens late Sunday, and many were hoping to see Crackdown 3 be a big part of that. I guess we’ll see how Microsoft handles this.

The streak is unbroken, MS just does not care about it's firstparty problem.

In reply to FalseAgent:

Except that one does not have to inherit an anti-ms mindset to ascertain what is obvious.

OTH Sony is performing admirably, so why care for MS. They aren't even competing – it seems MS have started breast feeding a totally different group of people in the meantime, namely those gamers who are tolerant towards monetization of cosmetics content, who don't bother having the fun being outsourced to them by the developer while paying full price and who generally don't care for even a pale imitation of a story line. To summarize, dare I say it, MS's demographic mainly is the Call Of Duty crowd.

However, I guess even those ppl wouldn't dismiss one or two Xbox exclusives, because you know, and Sony is proving the case for years, exclusives in general mean more time/money to create something new and different, maybe even innovation, exclusives mean taking a risk and in most cases a better end result for the gamer with more/money time spent. Even the most rabid defender of MS can't get around this fact without denying Microsoft's own share of famous exclusives of the distant past.

I'll wait for an official announcement. Rumor is that due to the cell-shaded art style being poorly received that they went back to redo all the art, but that's just a rumor.

The trailer last year was very lackluster, I just hope they're not delaying to tack on a Battle Royale mode, single player exploration is what made the first game so great.

Kinda sounds like Crackdown 3 is in development hell. ALso is this the same game that MS demoed a few years ago where it used cloud computing to render some major large-scale damage like multiple skyscrapers being destroyed?
