HP’s Newest Laptops Come With Real Wood

After leather, HP is now putting real wood on its laptops. The company is today introducing a new line of premium laptops that come with partially wooden designs.

HP says the company is trying to reimagine PC designs with these new wooden laptops, part of the company’s new Wood Series. The new wood designs will be available for the HP Envy 1, HP Envy x360 13, HP Envy x360 15, and the HP Envy 17. The new Wood Series also comes with Intel’s 10th gen processors or AMD’s 2nd Ryzen Mobile processors with Radeon Vega Graphics.

The design of the new Wood Series actually looks pretty slick, and HP says each of the PCs come with a “one-of-a-kind authentic wood inlay”. There are three different combinations available: Nightfall Black with Natural Walnut, Ceramic White with White Birch, or Natural Silver with Pale Birch:

HP is also announcing the “world’s first business detachable” with a leather keyboard folio, the Elite x2 G4 today. The company is also announcing a number of other business-focused computers at Computex today.

As for the new Wood Series, pricing details are unknown but they will be revealed closer to the release, which is slated for this Autumn.

Okay, the gray wood look good, but the dark wood looks too much like the 2600.

Agree with Waethorn: I got an Atari 2600 vibe from the laptop. Will need a joystick if I do get one!

My first thought on the wood trim was the Wagon Queen Family Truckster. Can I get the body in shiny metallic green?

My fear is these HPs will look like the Atari 2600 or Family Truckster from National Lampoons vacation. It will not age well.
