Microsoft to Live-Stream Surface Event

Microsoft’s already announced its Surface event for October back in August. Today, however, the company sent out new invites for the event with a new teaser image.
Like the original invite, the new invite doesn’t really give away much about what’s to expect. One of the squares on the Microsoft logo has been edited to almost look like a processor, though. And that could be a big hint as to what’s to expect at the event. But the main announcement with this new invite is the fact that the event will be live-streamed. Last year, Microsoft didn’t live-stream its Surface event where it launched new colors for the Surface line, which was a little disappointing for many. The event was also a lot smaller than what this year’s event is supposed to be.

By the way, Surface head Panos Panay says he’s pumped, which means this year’s event is going to be bigger and more exciting than last year’s.
So what exactly are we expecting at the event? For now, Microsoft is expected to introduce the new Surface Pro 7 with upgraded internals, as well as a new Surface Pro powered by Qualcomm’s ARM processors, and a new AMD-powered Surface Laptop. The company’s Surface event isn’t only about hardware, though. We are likely to see news on Microsoft’s consumer version of Microsoft Teams called “Teams for Life” and our first look at Windows Lite. And that means we could even get our first-ever look at Microsoft’s dual-screen “Centaurus” Surface device.
Microsoft’s Surface event is happening on October 2nd, and it starts at 10 a.m. ET (14:00 GMT). We will be covering it live.
