OnePlus Unveils its First TV

For the past couple of weeks, OnePlus has slowly been pushing out teasers of its new TV and today, the company is fully announcing the device. In an oddly choreographed press event, the company had two live streams, one for its new phone and the other for this TV, the company announced the new hardware.

The new TV has a 55in display, is based on QLED technology, and runs Android TV. The display also supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision as well as quantum dot color which the company says is the most color accurate in the industry among comparable displays.

On the audio side, there is a 50-watt, eight-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos support. This arrangement is said to provide a simulated surround sound experience.

As for availability, the TV is launching first in India, where the company has a strong presence. The hardware will likely head to other markets in the near future, but for now, India will be the only place you can buy the new TV.

OnePlus is known for making high-quality hardware at a low price point. Pricing has not yet been announced but once it is, I will update the post.
