I think the previous round of updates for Surface Pro X included battery life improvements. Is there any real world experience that suggests there has been a measurable improvement in battery life or was there too little experience in the market to know?

I went to buy a Pro X a few days ago. While looking at it I was told it would not charge using USB-C, but only the terrible proprietary charger. This is a deal killer for me. Can you confirm if that is true or not?
