News of the firmware updates comes via the Surface Update History website, which just added entries for both of the new PCs.

I'm confused if MS is pulling an Apple or simply doing what it does best.

Hasn't these been the case with every generation of Surface products?

And most other manufacturers' devices also have similar updates at or soon after launch.
