OnePlus Buds Z Wireless Earbuds are Now Available

OnePlus is now selling its Buds Z Wireless Earbuds for $49.99, offering an impressive 20 hours of playback time.

“The OnePlus Buds Z are OnePlus’ latest true wireless in-ear headphones, set to deliver an elevated musical experience for users on the go,” a OnePlus representative told me. “The earbuds are equipped with advanced 10 mm dynamic drivers primed for a richer, booming bass line that works in synergy with bass boost technology for heart-pounding audio. Equipped with a dynamic 3D stereo powered by Dolby Atmos, the OnePlus Buds Z construct a thoroughly immersive soundstage.”

The price isn't bad, but I don't really like the design of each earbud being a separate unit. I have a pair of whatever brand bluetooth earbuds that I use at work. It's the type that is two earbuds connected by a cord, and I usually only listen to podcasts in one ear for when I need to be able to listen to coworkers or whatever. That's compact enough for my needs, and avoids the problem where I invariably lose one earbud at some point.

In reply to sekim:

Surely discrete ear buds are better, when you only listen in one ear? You leave the second one in the charging box, so it doesn't get lost. I sometimes do this with my Samsung earbuds, there are then no cables to get caught on things (I've ripped my old BT buds (with cable between the two buds) out of my ears a few times, taking my hat off, for example, or putting my hood up when it rains).

Just be sure both sides have a microphone or that you left the correct side in your ear. 🙂
