Oh yeah fellas. Here in Michigan it's been snowing all day, but it's starting to calm down now.

So that ran about 20 minutes long, but I didn't really mind because of the entertainment value. I do remain bothered though by the Big Paul/Tiny Brad thing that I have mentioned before and which is even worse when you watch these productions full screen on a 28"-34" monitor. Could someone maybe project Paul into the top left corner of the basic Brad window like a PIP display, leaving both of then about the same size? Or possibly display the Paul stream on Brad's wall monitor, turning him off only while Brad is doing the pitches that pay the rent? Paul is low res, by the way. Everybody has an excellent mic.

It has been a long week filled with many derangement-entrained events, so maybe I am a little more sensitive than usual. Still, that feels like something that would benefit from some production design rethinking. Or even first-time thinking.

On the good side, and possibly of interest to no one other than me, late today I actally encountereed that most beloved of computer problems, the kind that can be fixed with a hammer blow. The power button on my daughter's HP laptop, which is tiny, flat, and barely above the level of the surface in which it is mounted and with a restricted range of motion under the best of circumstances, was frozen in position and could not be made to turn her machine on. Turns out that corner of the case was tweaked, and I untweaked it by inserting a flat screwdriver blade in the seam between two body panels, twisting them further apart, and then tapping the flat side panel through which the power button was intended to protrude by a thousandth of an inch or so. Click! there it was, in proper position. A single push powered the machine up in the intended way. I tapped the surrounding pieces of metal a few times more to minimize the button's chance of binding up again, then went home. Elapsed time of inspection, analysis and repair — about two and half minutes. The world should have more days like that.

I've never seen snow before. I live in the tropics in Australia, and the coldest it gets in winter is 8C (46F) degrees 😛 For about 4 days in the year. And to me that's freezing lol
