<p>For a number of reasons that might not apply to Paul's situation I have been fulfilling home needs for distributed music with Amazon products. I use Spotify most often which does allow adding my own recorded music to the library , an Echo Input device for use with some powered speakers, and a stereo pair of newer Echo Studios (sound quite good even in comparison to Sonos (in my opinion)) in one room as well. Just another route to consider.</p>

<p>Look into Bluetooth Receivers to replace the Chromecast. It can be used as an input source for an audio receiver/amp or powered speakers. Prices run from about $15 to $120.</p>
