The Parental Controls are very handy. I setup Outlook.com email accounts for my kids when they were small so they could have there names.

Now that may son is 13 it's handy to control his computer time when he's home alone.

Of course I set them up years ago, so I don't remember how complicated it was. One plus is it's handy when setting up computers and giving the kids access.

Wait until you want to end parental controls. You have to remove them from the family to remove the Parental Controls…so they get an email stating "You have been removed from the <Name> Family."… giving them yet another topic to discuss with a therapist, or a reason to celebrate.

I ran into this one when my son was getting ready to head off to college, and he was 18 at the time, so really, it should have just promoted him to "adult" status. The other crazy bit is that if you still have other child accounts being monitored, the weekly reports go to ALL the "adult" accounts in the family, so as the older kids get removed, you can not add them back to the family without violating the privacy of the younger ones.

Clearly, they need to put a bit more thought into this "family" stuff.

Are the ads that I am seeing on FRD videos now deliberate? I have Thurrott and YouTube premium accounts and one of the reasons for this is to avoid the ads while supporting the creators. If I have to go to YouTube to watch the video without an advert blocking the bottom of it I will but the fact that I have a way around it does not make it less annoying.

      Deliberate?

We don’t have ads on our videos. So this must be from YouTube.

What DNS server are you using? The powers that be don't need your Brower or email info when every DNS request is getting logged. Google isn't hosting 8.8.8.8 out of the goodness of their heart.
