Tip of the week: Be portable in all things
Now, your Internet and cell service access can be as temporary as any other online service.
App pick of the week: Visual Studio Code
Microsoft’s developer editor is now available natively on M1 Macs. (Semi-unrelated, so is Photoshop.)
Enterprise pick of the week: New deployment service for firmware, drivers
This was an under-the radar announcement at Ignite. This new Windows Update business/enterprise service is coming to Intune (and Microsoft Graph?) in the second half of the year. A private preview is this month.
Codename pick of the week: Spartan
Goodbye, Spartan, a k a Legacy Edge/Dedge. (Anaheim is the not-as-colorful codename for the new Edge)
Beer pick of the week: Fifth Hammer Prickly Whiskers
March is women’s history month and March 8 was international women’s day. A local brewery here in NYC that is co-owned by a woman (Mary Izett), Fifth Hammer, makes some excellent beers of all styles. Prickly Whiskers is their sour made with the fruit of the Opuntia, a cousin of the prickly pear.Neon red in color and flavors of watermelon and raspberry, it’s a harbinger of spring!
