Tips and picks

Tip of the week: Use OneDrive’s Known Folder Backup

OneDrive’s ability to backup and sync your Desktop, Documents, and Pictures folders is the final piece of the puzzle.

App pick of the week: Stardock Multiplicity KVM

Now available on Steam, Multiplicity KVM lets you connect multiple PCs and work between them while using a single keyboard and mouse without all the wire hassles and hardware cost of a traditional switch. $39.99 on Steam

Enterprise pick of the week: Microsoft has big datacenter build-out plans

It’s on pace to build 50-100 new datacenters per year for the foreseeable future in an increasing number of countries. (Expect to hear lots about this on next week’s earnings call.) Meanwhile, if you can’t get inside a Microsoft datacenter, you can now tour one virtually for free.

Codename pick of the week: Santa Cruz

Santa Cruz is the codename for the recently announced Azure Percept service/kit for bringing AI services more easily to edge devices. (Thanks to an anonymous tipster for this one.)

Beer pick of the week: Drekker Brewing Ectogasm

Shout out to the Microsoft Fargo office! I thought Drekker was going to be just another hyped brewery. Cans are her in NYC all the way from Fargo, N.D. Then I had their single IPA called Ectogasm. All the hype is deserved. Go Vikings!

Recently, I reviewed what msn/bing interests were set to for my account. It was a very messed up listing with many irrelevant items that were selected. I removed the irrelevant items and hopefully it will be fixed going forward (and in prep for the news and interests).
