I am on SB 2, #2... The first one had lag on the trackpad sometimes (power and battery). I'd go to scroll and about a half second would go by before it would start. This could become problematic at times and I know isn't the desired behavior.
Has anyone else seen a delay on SB2 trackpads? I'm trying really hard to keep this laptop, as it's pretty perfect for me, other than the times I start scrolling and nothing happens. I've turned off pinch to zoom with no help.
Found this thread on Reddit and apparently, Daniel Rubino has seen it too. I've got 25 or so days left to make a final decision before my return window expires.
Here is the Reddit thread if anyone cares to read it... https://www.reddit.com/r/Surface/comments/7ip8dm/surface_book_2_touchpad_pointer_lag/
Would you consider not saying trigger words during FRD? If you can’t fix the studio lighting, maybe the cast could be edited? Is there an old school manual way you can get the studio lighting on without using her? In fact, your set looks good without that lighting anyway.
It happens so much and it just keeps triggering Alexa. I wish all podcasts would attempt to avoid trigger words.
Just a wish from a second year premium member… Thanks.
So, my SB2 finally came yesterday evening. Ran updates and it did some firmware, drivers, then 1709.
After all that, I installed my usual programs. One adjustment I always make is to speed up the mouse pointer and speed up the scrolling.
Google Chrome respects this and the scrolling is the speed I like. However, Windows screens and Edge do not seem to care about those settings. Scrolling on Edge is horribly slow for me. I should note all of this is on the trackpad.
Anyone ever seen/solved this? Every Windows app I install works how I wish, but the OS and Edge scroll at the same speed as before I changed the number of lines parameter.
In what world do you preorder a product (in stock and early) that doesn't arrive to your customer the same day you can buy it in a store?
My Surfacebook is still 'processing'. I may just go grab it from Best Buy and let MS get their first refurb back from me.
I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't arrive until next week. At least when I preorder something from Apple, it either comes day of or one day before.
I really thought Microsoft had learned SOMETHING about taking care of their early adopters.
With the slight price difference on a loaded out model (1TB/16 Gig), it seems that the graphics performance difference in the 15″ model almost makes the 15 moot.
What are your opinions on this? Only the 15″ supports all the pressure levels of the pen and tilt, so that decides it for artists.
It seems they are so close in price that it would be foolish to get the 1050 graphics instead of the 1060 and additional RAM.
Plus, the dGPU 13 is heavy for a 13", so there isn't much more weight with the 15. The 13 seems to have more availability, though.
Time to replace my laptop. I’m kind of giving up on the Surface Book 2. I’m sure it will come out at some point with 8th gen Intel processors.
Can anyone give me some first hand intel on the Surface Laptop? Is it bright enough? How is the trackpad? It looked a little small. It’s hard to tell in stores with the bright lights.
Best Buy has the 8 Gig/256GB/Platinum for 1188 right now. I’ve had a lot of trouble with Spectre x360's, so HP is off my list.
Can someone give me some first hand advice?
Sometimes, I grow tired of the standard commenters that just make it a point to hop in and bash the site or just be negative in general without a reason.
Some of these people have 95% of their posts downvoted for being irrelevant or just negative.
What if when a user got 10 downvotes on a single post, they lost the ability to comment for a week or something of that nature. It would be nice to see a couple of the haters on hiatus.
Hi Paul. First, thanks for trying to tackle my question solo last Wednesday.
IF you can find time, I'd love for you to view this link. There are fifty or so different versions of this same problem in insider hub, so the upvotes are affected due to the spread of topic names for this bug.
Prior to Creator's, I could start a movie in Edge, hit Cast To Device and it showed all my DLNA appliances in the house. After Creators, it just searches. You can then do Find Other Devices and it shows them all, but you can not use them to cast to.
It was incredible useful to blast a movie to the XBox One or straight to the TV. Especially on websites that you really need AdBlock on to navigate safely. It's very hard to work with the XBox One version of Edge on those sites, as the pop ups overtake the system.
Can someone please look at my account? In my history, I see three separate 42.00 charges. Two of them were within months of the original launch and the third is for the renewal I did a while back.
Was I actually charged twice for the first year or is that a glitch in how you processed alpha subscribers?
Please let me know and thanks.
Did you all not do coverage and get setup for live previews for Xbox One X because of timing (the move, etc...). I really enjoy Paul's takes on this stuff and Windows Central thankfully had plenty of information.
With Paul's interest in the console, I just didn't understand why you dealt with so little of the preorder/review opportunities.
Deliberate or timing? Didn't feel the need?
Can you guys do anything to brighten the audio on FRD? There is distortion on Paul's voice on both an HP Spectre x360 and Macbook Pro. It is often clipped and muffled. The audio that was just done on the phone while you were away was so much better than the 'studio' setup.
Anything you can do?
Is there a way to turn off the yellow flag in the defender notification icon for screen brightness?
Even plugged in, it 'warns' me that my brightness is not optimal for the battery.
I want that yellow flag to come up for things that matter to me. I understand brightness/battery trade offs just fine. It is even there when plugged in...
