OK, I had hoped that i dont get it because I have a Windows 10 Enterprise E3 version but here it is:
Dear Paul, Brad, Mehedi und the Thurrott.com Community,
thanks for a fun and informative year. Your site was a welcoming break from the damn Corona virus. Thanks for the work you all do.
I wish you, the team and the community a healthy start into the New Year and hopefully a better 2021.
Season greeting from Germany
Christian aka SherlockHolmes
To the german speaking members. What the [email protected]@ck is that?:
It says: "This PC is protected and monitored." Never saw that before.
as it was with Windows 10 19H1, you can activate the features of 20H2 with a registry key in 20H1 today. Sinply add the registry key and restart:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\FeatureManagement\Overrides\0\2093230218] "EnabledState"=dword:00000002 "EnabledStateOptions"=dword:00000000
After a restart, your Startmenu will look like this:
will there be a livestream from todays Office event? Thanks
What the fuck is this?
For the first time, I see an ad in Office 365 Home. Microsoft, you are so stupid. Im paying for Office. And now I get not only ads in windows , but also in Office? Sorry guys, this is going too far.
The ad says: " Download the new office app. Be productive on the road. get more information."
I just got the new icons for the Mail app and Calendar app. Man are those things ugly.
OK, this is a first for me. Today, I saw Ads in a UWP for the first time.
It says: Get your Gmail on your phone because I have an G Suite Accout. That sucks.
I just had to reinstall Office 365 Home on a PC and guess what? OneNote 2016 didnt install this time.
Did Microsoft remove the app?
I just noticed that the option to register your own domain with outlook.com is back when you have an Office 365 subscription.
But this time its different then the last one. You need a GoDaddy Domain. In the past, you could use every ISP.
Paul, do you have any information if this is now a permanent thing. Thanks.
With the latest Windows 10 RS5 build 17758.1 it is again possible to leave the Windows Insider Programm completely.
a few days ago I had to reinstall Windows 10 Pro on my main machine. Since I live in Germany I thought I could test to install Windows 10 Pro N since it was designed for the European market. And it worked.
The beauty of Windows 10 Pro N is, it comes without the crapware. And whats even nicer is: It comes without Windows 10 Mixed Reality Portal.
So what you get is a really clean Windows 10 install. After you have uninstalled the Windows Store and alld installed Apps via Powershell, you really have a plain Windows, just with Edge and Cortana.
The only downside is: It also comes without Windows Media Player. But you can download it from Microsoft.
I would like to hear what you think of it and I like to hear your thoughts on trying it.
I am thinking of finally buying an XBox. The question is: Is the XBox One S still a good deal? I dont need the offerings of the XBox One X. I just need a good gaming consol. And for that I think the XBox One S is enough for me.
The questions I Have is: For how long does the One S offer a good gaming? When will Microsoft stopp surrporting One S?
Thanks for the advice.
I hear a lot of complains lately from Paul and others about Windows 10 and where this train is going.
The only thing Microsoft understands is marketshare. So here is the problem I have with the complaining from Paul and others. Its easy actually.
Why doesnt all the complainers simply stopp using Windows 10 when its so bad? A drop in marketshares is the only thing Microsoft will understand. All complains will accomplish nothing when no action follows: And that action is: Stopp using the product!
I know i will get a lot of minus points for this post. But I strongly belief this is the only way out of this.
i started to use Windows 8.1 again a few month ago. And guess what? I didnt miss any of the Windows 10 features at all. So what does this tell us about the quality of the product?
after I Upgraded to Windows 10 Pro 1709 I see every time I boot up my desktop PC a command line popup for just a second and then its gone again. Does anybody else have this problem? Is there a fix?
I wanted to book Thurrott premium on a monthly basis again but thats not possible. I am directed to book a yearly sub. Error or wanted?
Does anybody outside Outlook.com Premium offered countries want to have the service? Here is how:
You need to sign up for the Outlook ad free service first. Then you can go to premium.outlook.com and subscribe to Outlook.com Premium, either with your own domain or you can buy a new one.
When you host your domain through godaddy.com, they will setup the domain themself and you dont have to do anything.
I have a question regarding the Windows 10 Mail App. Is there a way to choose a font and font size permantly so you dont have to change it every timme you write an E-Mail?
