    Google Home setup

So, I was setting up a Google Home for a non-tech friend that has a Samsung Galaxy J3 Achieve. Granted, cheap phone but it is running Android 8 so it isn’t outdated. So, it’s finds the Home, puts it on the network but after that, the phone loses connection and will not continue setup. I asked if she had any other devices and she had an old Nexus 7 tablet. Tried with that and worked perfectly the first time. Got it going but just peaked my curiosity. I assume that since Samsung is not pure Android that something they did breaks the Home app. Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

Need low-cost multi-function printer for ocassional use

I brought an Epson 3640 in 2014. Works fine & I really like it. But in the past four years, the status page says that I have printed 901 pages. The ink is just killing me...$70 to replace all cartridges which might be OK if they didn't dry out but they do! So, I'm thinking a color laser makes more sense but I want a two-sided ADF scanner & fax. Also want two paper trays. Any suggestions for a reasonably priced (under $500) multi-function laser that also has affordable consumables?

Can you really "sandbox" a browser?

I've played around with SandBoxie & I use Hyper-V all of the time, but is it truly possible to be protected since it has to be interacting with the host system to run. Can you run a process in an operating system while also isolating it from that same OS?

My gut feeling is, it may give a user a false sense of invulnerability and therefore make them MORE likely to be infected.

    1803 was a disaster

Well, I thought I would go ahead and update. After 2 days, I gave up. It would run fine for maybe 10 minutes and then the interface (desktop, start button, right click) would just stop responding. The machine was not locked up....Mouse still worked. To me, it's seems like there a process triggered after several minutes. And this was both with an update and a complete clean install (wiped partition table). This is the first version that I have ever had any serious issues running.

No doubt, they'll get it right and in fairness, I forced the upgrade so I'm not saying Microsoft wrecked my machine! You install an insider build, you agree to take the risks. Just saying, I would wait until it is offered and not go get it....
