Long time partner, since around 2004. We have run and grown our business on the IUR available and been very grateful for them. I have no issue with the removal of the IUR for our business and paying our way now that we're bigger and can afford it but...
1) Should only remove for businesses of a certain size, startups should still be able to use IUR or it will drive to competitors like GoogleDocs, etc, etc
2) The timing of it all is completely unacceptable and in my opinion the most understated piece of Microsoft's complete lack of thinking around marketing and communication in a long time - and thats saying something!
They state the date that it will be finished is July2020 which doesn't sound so bad, but that's the completion date for the change of all partners. Every partner renewal from August 1st 2019 has it take effect and our Partner renewal is August 2nd - giving us about 3 weeks to sort everything out!!!? The impact of sorting out licencing for all the various bits in use, cost evaluating it, planning migrations to Azure or other services takes time and dropping a 3 week timetable on it regardless of us now needing to find an estimated 50k per/year for what we have in use.
I spent 2 hours on the phone to Partner support on Monday, they could tell me little and the only documentation they could provide was all labelled "PREVIEW" and "subject to change". That is just not good enough, I've got no time to plan this and they can't give me a final listing of all the software changes so I don't even know what I need to buy or if that will change in a weeks time.
This is just silly and I'm a tad frustrated.
log into the o365 portal and all the new icons are live for Onedrive, OneNote and all the main Office apps. Its the first time I've noticed, have I been asleep for a few weeks or is it new? :)

History – used SBook1 for approx 1year from Dec2016 to now (so I missed the majority of issues at the start) and while it hasn’t been without issue it has also found a special place and I love/hate/love the thing.
After it looked like the SB2 wasn’t going to happen this year I relented and bought the new HP Spectre x360 15 with 8th Gen i7, 16GB, 1TB, 4k, etc, etc. A fine machine in theory but I really disagree with Paul on this as being a a laptop veteran of about 15years where I have used laptops exclusively and changed them almost every year for the latest and greatest – I just don’t get the HP. Its just full of unaceptable rookie mistakes, so long story short that went back and I’m now looking to embrace the pain with a launch day SBook2.
Got my pre-order in this morning for the i7, 16GB, 512GB in 13.5″ version. I would have thrown my money at the 15″ version but its not out in the UK… “because Microsoft”.
But… where are the reviews? pre orders are open and I’m yet to see a single review outside of the brief hands on event where they announced it. I’m concerned because the 13.5″ doesn’t have a CPU fan and its a quad-i7. To me this just screams disaster, but being the fool I am I’m hoping beyond hope that they have worked some thermal magic and everything will be fine. I know right… if this was true there would be throwing review units at people but there is an errie silence and its making me nervous.

Little miffed about the advertisements in the last first ring daily episode. I listen to every episode on the treadmill each morning (along with Windows weekly, Sams report, WhatTheTech at various times of week) and while I'm absolutely fine with sponsors and adverts in those - because they are a) significantly longer. b) free to everyone. I totally understand the need to get paid for your work - I am not fine with it in the premium content that I have already paid to access - and it messes up my flow on the treadmill ?
Now I remember on the FRD not so long ago Paul had a big rant about people complaining about adverts for free things (people need to get paid - which I support), but when already charging access to the premium section I don't expect a couple of minutes from 20 approx to be adverts.
Now I know Paul doesn't like to talk about this, but I recall he moved house recently? Is the electrician's bill really that much that a week or so after we have adverts? ?

Decent XBoxOneS offer on atm, Console, Destiny2, GearsOfWar4, Forza, HaloWars2 and 60days XBoxLive for £199. They sold out pretty quickly this morning... but "because Micrsosoft" you can still place the order.
If you watch the page load, it seems to do an inline stock check, but the button originally loads as clickable "add to cart" then changes to disabled "out of stock" button on load. If you time it jussst right you can click the add button before it has a chance to change.
Thats just poor. But hey - cheap consoles for everyone regardless of stock ftw.
