New Terms & Services for May 1, 2018
So apparently Microsoft can now ban your account for ‘offensive language’ even on privately held Skype chats, private XBox messaging, privately held(non-shared) Office documents, etc… So don’t dare use the f-word in a novel you’re writing and storing on OneDrive, because Microsoft will now ban your account.
Also if you and your buddy have a Skype chat and use f-bombs or racial slurs that are perfectly fine with each other, MS will ban BOTH your accounts.
Thought police is so 2018.

Microsoft Stream for business
https://mspoweruser.com/microsoft-stream-claimed-to-be-a-hidden-gem/
The video hosting service for businesses is available 181 markets and 44 languages to Office 365 Enterprise customers and features many AI-driven features such as face detection for videos, letting users skip to a part of the video where a certain person is shown. The service also includes speech-to-text detection that automatically transcribes videos uploaded to Stream and the transcriptions are a lot more accurate than what you see on YouTube’s auto-generated captions.

Redstone 4 update.
Isn't it weird that Microsoft still hasn't announced what the update will be called or the major features? It's Nov. 1 and they're very quiet.

Paul's double standard?
I know that he always make a HUGE deal out of new Windows builds or Windows app updates going out without detailed changelogs. Hue and cry, whining, gnashing of teeth and rending of garments.
But Google, what about them?
F.e., Their last Youtube iPad update had this:
"Fixed what needed fixing and squished some bugs."
How is that acceptable from the 2nd biggest company in tech? Why Paul never mentions that Google does the same thing or worse?

Scalebound cancellation and why I think XBox is doomed.
I think it's pretty clear by now that Microsoft does not care about Japanese style games. Anyone who is interested in that style of game(JRPG, anime-style games) already buys PS4.
XBox is clearly the platform for US/UK/Mexico dude-bros who play FPS shooter/slasher games. They are not interested in quirky indie games or deep narratives with beautiful artwork. Just blood & guts.
Phil Spencer is a phoney.
Discuss.

2017 CES
I can't remember in my lifetime a more exciting upcoming CES for Windows hardware.
Windows holographic devices from the 5 OEMs mentioned at the October 26 event.
Possibly multiple Windows 10 IOT devices(Harmon Kardon confirmed).
Possibly smart fridges and other appliances.
Who would have thought after the 2010 disgrace of Ballmer showing a tablet with Windows 7 on it that 7 years later CES would be this amazing?

Future of Windows 10 on ARM
Windows 10 will run on ARM. Full native for UWP and emulation for x86 apps.
Imagine late 2017 tablets & low-end PCs start shipping with SD835 which will be just below in raw performance to Intel Core i3 or Core M.
https://versus.com/en/intel-core-m-5y70-vs-qualcomm-snapdragon-820-msm8996
As you see the only real advantage the Core M has is clock frequency. But for tablets and low-end laptops like the HP Stream 11/13 does it really matter?
If this is what gets UWP development going than that's what Microsoft is hoping for. If UWP becomes a 'thing' by 2018 than it justifies releasing premium Surface device on ARM that can make actual profits.
Definitely MS playing the longer game here, but if UWP never reaches critical mass, it will all be for naught and MS will have to eventually scrap hardware and shift to being a pure-cloud services company.

MS #2 most loved brand

Interesting. You would think with Paul's trashing of everything Microsoft does they would be WAY down the list. But the average person is not as super-critical as Paul.

The Big Picture.
As hyped as we all got last week about the W10 Creators Update + Surface Studio I'm hit by a reality check.
Where is Microsoft in home automation, health or auto?
I just bought a Philips Hue system which I will administer via the iOS Home app.
Next year I will buy a vehicle with CarPlay/Android Auto built-in.
I don't care about smartwatches but Apple is killing it in Health with their latest watch offering.
I see Microsoft creating new PC form factors but not offering anything in mobile, home automation, health or auto. It makes me very sad.

Panos' demo.
Was it just me or was this the very first Surface demo without a single technical glitch of any kind? Just perfection in every facet in terms of no stuttering in the UI, no pen latency, the dial worked, etc... You can see the confidence in the team these days.

Anyone else disappointed in Surface Studio?
I feel for $4200 it should have native SSD + Thunderbolt 3.0 + USB 3.1 ports. I mean really $4200.
