Microsoft Releases Two New Windows 10 Insider Builds

Microsoft is releasing two new Windows 10 builds to Windows Insiders. The company is releasing builds for version 19H1 and version 20H1 of Windows 10, and both the builds are focused on bug-fixes.

For Windows Insiders in the Fast Ring, Microsoft is releasing build 18343 from Windows 10 19H1. This is the update Microsoft will be shipping in a few weeks time to the general public. The new build is a small bump from build 18342, which was only released earlier this week. However, that build wasn’t available to some users due to an issue with Connected Standby, and that’s been fixed with today’s build.

And for Windows Insiders in Skip Ahead, Microsoft is releasing build 18841 from Windows 10 20H1. This is the update Microsoft will release sometime in 2020, and that is really confusing as Microsoft will still be releasing 19H2 builds later this year. The company is yet to provide concrete reasoning behind exactly why it is already testing the 2020 update before we are done with updates for the year. The only thing we know so far is that some of the features in the 20H1 release will “require a longer lead time” and so Microsoft is already starting to test the new builds with Insiders.

In terms of new features, none of the new builds include any major new changes apart from small improvements and minor bug fixes. You can find the full changelog for build 18343 here, and build 18841 here.

In reply to MixedFarmer75:

If I recall correctly, in the last couple of updates there were no Slow Ring releases until shortly before the projected general release program got under way. If that's the case here, and if general release occurs in early tp mid-April, I wouldn't expect to see a Slow Ring release before mid-March — and maybe not until later in the month.
