Mixer is bringing its brand new mobiles apps out of beta today. The team started working on a completely rebuilt mobile app for Android and iOS devices a few months ago, releasing the first beta in late October. Today, the redesigned app is coming to all users on Android and iOS.
First up, there’s an improved design of the app which provides a consistent experience across your devices. Mixer has opted for a new tab-based navigation that makes it easy to go around the primary sections of the app like Trending, Following, and Profile. The improved design also packs greater customizability, as well as a whole set of UX-related enhancements that will improve the overall experience of the app.

The new app is completely rebuilt from the ground up, giving you improved performance. Jerome Holman, Mixer’s Senior Program Manager for mobile apps, says the new codebase will allow the company to push out faster updates as well.
“Complete with a new code base to enable faster updates than ever before, we’ve redesigned the new app pixel-by-pixel to offer a more consistent Mixer experience across devices. From beta through to launch, we’ve focused on improved discoverability, new personalization options, and Mixer interactivity,” Holman stated.
Mixer’s brand new mobile apps include support for push notifications, something you’d expect the app to include from the get-go. Support for notifications took a little while to arrive, but with the new app you will no longer miss out whenever your favourite streamers start streaming.
