Microsoft is holding yet another sale on the Xbox One S and X, this time kicking in a free game title when you buy a console or bundle.
“Xbox is offering an amazing deal on Xbox One consoles right now, Microsoft’s Will Tuttle announced. “For a limited time, you can pick an additional game when you buy any Xbox One console.”
The deal runs through March 16 and is valid at Microsoft Store retail locations and online, and at other participating retailers in the U.S. only.
What’s not clear—at least to me—is what your choices are when it comes to the additional free game. Tuttle notes that “once you’ve figured out what great bundle you want, you’ll also get to decide what additional game you want to pair with it.” And that you can “choose from amazing games like Devil May Cry 5, Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, Anthem, Kingdom Hearts III, Metro Exodus, Forza Horizon 4, Crackdown 3, NBA2k19 and more.”
If you look at the Microsoft Store listing for a console, it says only that you can choose from “an additional select game of [your] choice.” A code for that free game will be emailed 10 business days post-purchase, Microsoft says.
Still, the recent advice still stands: You should never buy an Xbox One that isn’t on sale. And Xbox One is on sale almost all of the time these days.
