Microsoft Unveils Xbox One S Minecraft Favorites Bundle

The Xbox One S bundles just keep on coming: Today, Microsoft announced he Xbox One S Minecraft Favorites Bundle, which combines a 500 GB version of the console with a digital copy of Minecraft: Xbox One Edition and some interesting Minecraft goodies.

“With more than 100 million copies sold to-date, Minecraft is a game about placing blocks and going on adventures,” a Microsoft representative told me. “You can explore randomly-generated worlds and build amazing things from the simplest of homes to the grandest of castles, play in Creative Mode with unlimited resources or mine deep in Survival Mode, crafting weapons and armor to fend off dangerous mobs.”

Minecraft’s pedigree is well-established. But this new $300 bundle may drive some fans of the game to invest in an Xbox One S. Here’s what you get:

500 GB Xbox One S console. This is the standard white Xbox One S with a 500 GB hard drive and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player.

Xbox One S wireless controller. This too is the standard controller, with with expanded range and Bluetooth support for Windows 10 PCs.

Minecraft: Xbox One Edition. Obviously, you get the game, in this case in download code form. The Xbox One version of Minecraft offers “enhanced performance and 16X bigger worlds compared to the Xbox 360 Edition,” Microsoft notes.

Minecraft: Xbox One Edition Favorites Pack. Also in download code form, the Favorites Pack features the Festive Mash-up Pack, Halo Mash-up, Fantasy Texture Pack, Natural Texture Pack, City Texture Pack, Battle & Beasts Skin Pack and Battle & Beasts 2 Skin Pack.

Minecraft: Xbox One Edition Builder’s Pack. Yes, another download code, which provides access to the Biome Settlers Skin Pack, Cartoon Texture Pack, Candy Texture Pack, Plastic Texture Pack, Pattern Texture Pack and the Greek Mythology Mash-up.

Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta. You also get a download code for the Windows 10 version of Minecraft, which is a nice touch. Note that it’s not an Xbox Play Anywhere title. Yet?

You can find the Xbox One S Minecraft Favorites Bundle today in the U.S. and Canada at Microsoft Stores (both retail and online) and participating retailers for $300. It is coming to the United Kingdom, Western Europe & Central Europe on October 11, and then Australia and New Zealand on November 1. No dates yet for Asia and Latin America, but it is going worldwide eventually, Microsoft says.
