Goofy Microsoft app of the week: Fetch!

Here’s another Microsoft mobile app that will have Windows phone fans up in arms:Fetch!, a Microsoft Garage project, works only on iPhone.

Fetch! recognizes dogs and classifies them by their breed.

Just for fun we include a mode that lets you find out what dog breeds you and your friends are.

There’s also an extension collection of breeds that contains information such as disposition, size, coat and what types of families are best suited for each.

This is the kind of app you’re going to take out when you’re with your friends. You’ll make fun of each other, comparing which breeds you look like, and posting the tagged photos.

Yep. That happened.

One day sale on Surface Pro 4 today

If you’re thinking about buying Surface Pro 4 and can shop at the Microsoft Store, today may be the day, as Microsoft is having a good sale: Get $100 off a Surface Pro 4, plus get a free Surface Docking Station, which is worth an additional $200.

When you include the required Type Cover, that means Surface Pro 4 starts at about $930 (vs. $1030), plus you get the free dock.

Xbox One users can watch the first episode of “11.22.63” for free on Hulu this week A Yesterday, I wrote about the surprise release of the Windows 10 universal app version of Hulu. Today, Microsoft came clean about this major update, and provided some interesting side-news:

The first part of 11.22.63, “The Rabbit Hole,” is also available for free to non-Hulu subscribers on Xbox this week only.

And, no, this doesn’t mean Hulu is a universal app on Xbox One. In fact, Microsoft told me it was not.

Windows Device Recovery tool updated with the support for some new devices

OneTechShop is reporting that the Windows Device Recovery Tool has updated to support some new devices, but they don’t have any info on which devices. Fortunately, Neowin supplies the following list:

AlcatelOne FierceXL
BLU WIN HD (first-generation)
BLU WIN HD LTE MCJ
Madosma Q501

You can grab this very useful tool from the Microsoft web site.
