You Can Get Free Shipping on All Amazon Orders During the Holidays

Amazon is getting ready for the holiday season in a big way. The company announced today that it will be offering free shipping for all Amazon orders during the holiday season, just in time for Christmas.

This is the first time Amazon is offering such an offer, though the company had free shipping for orders over $25 last year.

If you are a Prime subscriber, Amazon says Prime Same-Day Delivery now offers more than 3 million items, which is the largest same-day selection from the company ever.

The offer will be incredibly beneficial for Amazon, and although it has more than 100 million Prime subscribers, a majority of its customers continue to be non-Prime subscribers. The free shipping will probably help boost sales quite a lot, especially since it’s the holiday season. Amazon will likely release sales numbers after the holidays, so it’ll be quite interesting to see exactly how much the offer helps the company out.

Is it just me or has Amazon's shipping been falling short lately? It seems like more and more items have been taking longer, even though I'm a Prime member.

Now the question is, will Google Express do something similar? That's Google Express' biggest problem right now as a potential Amazon competitor. Every store has different free shipping rules and buying a $20 item from Walmart and one from Target doesn't get you over the "free" barrier.

To make matters worse they often don't have the same item across multiple stores, even though the Store's dedicated website has it. (example: Ant-man and the Wasp 4K is only available from Target, even though Walmart.com, Bestbuy.com, and Frys.com carry it).

(NOTE: I assume they are wanting to be a competitor after they removed the Google Keep functionality from Google Assistant in favor of that limited Google Express Shopping List.)

I just saw a commercial that Walmart is also having free 2 day shipping. Wonder who came up with it first?

I presume that this is US only? If I'm lucky, US and Canada only, although I do have a US PO Box as the shipping from US to Canada is outrageously gouging and I live close to the border.
