Surface Studio Line Gets Improved Pen Latency With New Firmware Updates

Microsoft is rolling out a new firmware update for both the Surface Studio and Surface Studio 2 this week. The company is rolling out a minor update for the NVIDIA Display drivers for both the original Surface Studio and Surface Studio 2, and it introduces some improvements for the Surface Pen.

More specifically, the firmware update apparently improves Surface Pen latency and introduces other general improvements in terms of the device’s stability. Here’s the changelog for the Surface Studio 2:

• NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 – Display adapters – 26.21.14.3140 improves Pen latency, and improves device stability with updated NVIDIA driver support.

And here’s the changelog for the Surface Studio:

• NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M – Display adapters – 26.21.14.3140 improves Pen latency and reliability and improves device stability with updated NVIDIA driver support.
• Surface Pen Settings – Human Interface Device – 23.608.139.0 improves Pen latency and reliability.
