Google Releases the First Stadia Game With Stadia Connect

As promised, Google is releasing the last new games for Stadia for 2019 this week. Stadia already has more than 20 titles on the service, and Google is releasing three new games this week to expand the library.

Google is releasing Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Borderlands 3, and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint this week.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is already available on Stadia for $49.99, while Google is offering a reduced price for Borderlands 3 on Stadia for a limited time. Gamers can get up to 35% off the Standard Edition or Deluxe Edition of Borderlands 3, for example.

As for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Google is offering up to 50% off all the editions for a limited time on Stadia. But here’s the thing: this is also the first game to support Stadia Connect, the feature that allows users to stream each others’ screens with their teammates. “Many games have become so complex that the utilization of split-screen technology has declined because rendering two or more scenes at the same time is too taxing on consoles. Because Stadia resides in the cloud, there aren’t the same challenges you’d have on a local machine, and you can see multiple screens without any performance penalties,” Google said.

This is most likely the last set of games for Stadia in 2019, so you will have to wait till 2020 for new Stadia games. Still, considering the troubled launch of Stadia, Google has managed to recover quite a lot, and it should be interesting to see if the company can keep that up in 2020.
