Too many video links

Anyone else feel there are too many links to videos on the front page? Today when I load up the front page, 6 of the 8 thumbnails I see are for videos. I see a link to First Ring Daily, then the Sams report, then the podcasts block containing First Ring Daily again, then the Sams Report again, then Bingjacked, then Sams Report again….

I prefer to read about windows and Microsoft and not watch videos about it. Having an article thumbnail to the sams report only to duplicate it again right below in the podcasts block seems redundant.

FRD appears, mainly daily, as its name suggests.

The other podcasts are once a week and, yes, if you look at the page just after the shows were released – and they are recorded after each other – then they do appear to clutter up the home page, but only for a couple of hours.

The reason is that you have the podcasts section of the homepage, but they also appear as the latest posts, until they drop down the order.

I read the site, mainly and I listen to WW and watch FRD most days, but it doesn't bother me, I just look past them… :-S

I always listen to the SR, WW, and FRD via podcast, so I rarely use the video links on the front page and I never actually look at the podcasts section of the site – they're all in Podcast Addict on my phone. The website format is consistent enough, though, that my brain just filters them out and I don't really see them as I scroll past, kind of like advertisements.

At least they don't autoplay. The number of news sites that try to milk you for clicks by taking you to a video first that is a far slower and more bandwidth intensive way to deliver the same information as in the article which you have to click again to see is infuriating.

I think generally speaking, Paul and company are respectful of my browsing experience.
