Ambient EQ. This new feature allows the Chromebook screen to adapt to any lighting condition automatically. “Ambient EQ naturally adjusts the white balance and color temperature of your Chromebook’s screen based on your surroundings,” Google says, “which makes the content on-screen appear more natural [and] making it easier on your eyes.” Ambient EQ is coming first to the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook, which ships in the US in April, and will arrive on other Chromebooks in the future.
Netflix picture-in-picture support. A new version of the Netflix app is available in the Google Play Store that supports picture-in-picture (PIP) functionality on Chrome OS. “While you shop online or browse the web on Chromebook, you can multitask and enjoy your favorite Netflix show playing in the corner of your screen,” Google notes. “The next time you’re watching a show in the Netflix app, just switch to another window to activate ‘picture-in-picture’—no set-up required.”
