    <p>The chromium edge browser seems to be a 'feature' of 21H1, it's not just Xbox but also Hololens 2 is able to run this browser. It's likely due to some underlying changes that allow the chromium rendering engine / WebView2 to run within the UWP/WinRT runtime.</p><p><br></p><p>Alex Kipman mentioned this kind of work was in progress last year at Mixed Reality Dev Days when he was asked if Chromium Edge &amp; WebView2 were coming to Hololens 2. </p><p><br></p><p>I think also it may rely on the Win32 containerisation platform that was touted for 10X but is also being used to allow Chromium Edge + WebView2 to run within that UWP/WinRT runtime so that it works on platforms like Hololens and Xbox.</p>
