Samsung Announces new Samsung Galaxy S22 Family and Galaxy Tab S8 Series

Samsung has just unveiled the latest additions to its family of Galaxy smartphones and tablets, which include the flagship Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra smartphones. Samsung remains one of the top smartphone manufacturers worldwide and the Galaxy S22 series once again delivers top-of-the-line specs with a real focus on camera quality.
The Galaxy S22 and S22+ both feature dynamic cameras with advanced intelligent image processing. The list of sensors include a 50MP main camera, a 10MP tele-lens, and a 12MP ultra-wide lens, all beefed up with Samsung’s latest AI algorithm that helps to make pictures look better even in low light.

These new Galaxy smartphones are also the first in the family to use a 4nm SoC with advanced AI and ML algorithms, coupled with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. Both the Galaxy S22 and S22+ also feature the same AMOLED display with a 120Hz frame rate (240Hz in Game Mode), and they also support the latest wireless standards including 5G, WiFi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.2. The only notable differences between the two models are the screen size (6.1” vs 6.6”) and battery capacity (3700mAh vs. 4,500mAh).
Samsung also announced today the Galaxy S22 Ultra, which according to the company combines “the unrivalled power of the Note series and the pro-grade camera and performance of the S series.” This Galaxy S22 Ultra comes with Samsung’s signature S Pen, and the company has worked to reduce latency by 70% compared to previous models.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra also comes with 5 different cameras including 12MP Ultra-Wide Camera, a 108 MP Wide Camera, two different 10MP Telephoto Camera, as well as a 40MP Front Camera. “S22 Ultra is built with a 2.4um pixel sensor – Samsung’s largest pixel sensor ever, enabling its camera lenses to capture more light and data, optimizing the lighting and detail of your video clips,” the company said today.
The other interesting things about the Galaxy S22 Ultra include a massive 6.8” AMOLED Display with a peak brightness of 1,750 nits, a 5,000mAh battery, and the high-end models also come with 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. Notably, Samsung announced today that will now offer up to four generations of One UI and Android OS upgrades on the Galaxy S22, S22+, S22 Ultra, and other select Galaxy devices.
If Android tablets still remain far less popular than Apple’s iPads, Samsung is trying to change that with its new Galaxy Tab S8 Series. There’s once again three different models, the Galaxy Tab S8, S8+, and S8 Ultra, and the latter comes with an impressive 14.6-inch AMOLED screen.
The Galaxy Tab S8 series should be good for productivity thanks to ultra-wide front cameras, a three-microphone setup, as well S Pen support on the S8+ and S8 Ultra models. On the software front, Samsung is continuing to invest into Samsung Dex, its productivity solution that provides a desktop experience on Galaxy tablets. The Galaxy Tab S8 Series will also introduce a new Second Screen experience that lets Windows users use the tablets as a portable second monitor.
The Galaxy S22, 22+, and S22 Ultra will be available in carrier and unlocked versions starting on February 25, 2022. The Galaxy Tab S8 Series will also launch on February 25, and all models are now available for pre-order on Samsung’s website. The Galaxy S22 starts at $799.99, the S22+ starts at $999.99 and the S22 Ultra starts at $1,199.99. Prices for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 start at $699, but Samsung currently offers various pre-order bonuses and trade-in offers for all its new Galaxy smartphones and tablets on its website.
