Amazon revealed today that is raising the prices of Amazon Music Unlimited, its Spotify and Apple Music competitor.
“To help us bring you even more content and features, we’re updating the prices of select Amazon Music Unlimited plans,” an Amazon support page explains.

As of May 5, 2022, the monthly price of the Amazon Music Single-Device Plan is rising from $3.99 to $4.99. And the Amazon Music Unlimited Individual Plan (which is discounted for Amazon Prime members) is rising from $7.99 to $8.99 per month. The annual Amazon Music Unlimited Individual Plan is also rising from $79 to $89 per year.
It appears that the pricing for the Amazon Music Unlimited Family Plan and Student Plan will not change. The service offers 90 million songs in HD, millions of songs in Ultra HD, and a growing catalog of music mastered in Dolby Atmos and 360 Reality Audio.
Amazon launched Amazon Music Unlimited in October 2016, touting its “breakthrough” pricing and Alexa integration. Next month’s change represents the first time that Amazon is raising prices, as the service debuted at $7.99 per month/$79 per year for Amazon Prime subscribers.
