Microsoft Ignite, the company’s big event for developers and IT pros will be held at the Seattle Convention Center on October 12-14, 2022. This will be Microsoft’s first in-person event since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, though the company explained in an FAQ that attendance will be limited.
“The Seattle in-person experience will include highly interactive and immersive activities at the Seattle Convention Center. It offers numerous opportunities for in-person learning and connection with Microsoft executives and technology leaders as well as industry innovators, influencers, fellow technology executives, and peers from customer and partner organizations,” the company explained.
Guess what’s back, back again. 😉

You can already sign up to be notified when registrations for Ignite 2022 will open in late August. In addition to the physical event in Seattle, Microsoft is also planning “Spotlight” events in France, Germany, Japan, Latin America, and the UK. During registration, attendees will be able to choose if they want to attend in person or digitally, and there will be no cost to attend digital events.
As noted by The Verge today, Ignite 2022 will kick off just a couple of days before the 10th anniversary of the launch of Microsoft’s Surface RT on October 27, 2012. “Sources tell The Verge that Microsoft is planning to mark the 10-year anniversary of Surface with new products this fall, and is planning to deliver the 22H2 update for Windows 11 in late September,” the report said.
