Microsoft’s New Bing AI Comes to the Bing, Edge, and Skype Mobile Apps

Microsoft’s new AI-powered Bing is coming to mobile devices this week. The Bing mobile app is being updated today to integrate the new Bing chatbot, and Microsoft is also bringing its Bing AI to its Edge and Skype mobile apps.

“We’re beginning to roll out the incredible capabilities of the new Bing and Edge on your smartphone along with some exciting new features, such as voice input. In addition, we are creating a new chat experience, beginning with Skype, to enhance your social communications with your friends and family,” said Yusuf Mehdi, CVP and Consumer Chief Marketing Officer at Microsoft.

In the Bing mobile app, Microsoft added a Bing icon at the bottom navigation bar that provides access to the chatbot (only for those who already have access to the preview). Voice search is also available, which according to Microsoft was one of the community’s most requested features.

In Microsoft Edge for iOS and Android, the new AI-powered Bing is also available from the app’s homepage. Moreover, if you use Skype, you’ll also be able to add the Bing chatbot to group conversations and ask your questions by @mentioning it.

“If you’re among those awaiting access, we appreciate both your patience and your excitement. We’re working as fast as possible to onboard more people every day,” Mehdi said today. The new AI-powered Bing is currently being tested in 169 countries, and Microsoft said that it has already welcomed over 1 million testers since its launch two weeks ago.
