Copilot for Microsoft 365 Now Supports 16 Additional Languages

Microsoft announced today that it has dramatically expanded the list of languages supported by Copilot for Microsoft 365. Plus, a 17th is available but not supported.

“Starting today, we are rolling out support for Copilot for Microsoft 365 in an additional 16 languages,” Microsoft’s TJ Devine writes in the announcement post. “These join the growing list of languages in which Copilot is already supported: Chinese (Simplified), English (US, GB, AU, CA, IN), French (FR, CA), German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese (BR), and Spanish (ES, MX).”

The newly supported languages include Arabic, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, Hebrew, Hungarian, Korean, Norwegian (Bokmal), Polish, Portuguese (Portugal), Russian, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, and Ukrainian.

Microsoft separately notes that Chinese (Traditional), which was previously available in the free Copilot, is now available—but not supported—in Copilot for Microsoft 365 too. Support for Chinese (Traditional) is coming soon, but there are a few issues to resolve first.

“Copilot for Microsoft 365 may not yet understand every colloquial expression or linguistic convention in a given language,” Devine adds. “We are continually refining Copilot’s language capabilities and encourage users to provide us with actionable feedback. We are also continuing to expand the list of supported languages, and will share more in [the] coming months.”
