Google is Killing the Fitbit.com Web Dashboard

Google announced that it will kill the Fitbit.com web dashboard on July 8, 2025, giving aggrieved Fitbit users another yet another thing to gripe about.

“Next month, we’re consolidating the Fitbit.com dashboard into the Fitbit app,” an announcement on the Fitbit Community notes. “The web browser will no longer offer access to the Fitbit.com dashboard after July 8, 2024.”

The Fitbit.com dashboard has operated as a web-based alternative to the Fitbit mobile app, though Fitbit customers still need to use the latter to sync the data collected by their devices. But in Google’s view, it’s redundant, and as part of its “mission” combining the previously separate Fitbit and Google teams, “consolidating” the dashboard makes sense. After all, the mobile app has many features that aren’t found in the web dashboard.

But as angry Fitbit customers explain in the comments to this announcement post, the reverse is also true: Many Fitbit.com dashboard features they rely on aren’t found in the app either. Some of the comments are, to put it politely, a bit unhinged. Many are threatening to switch platforms, of course.

“We know change can be difficult, but we appreciate your patience as we build Google Fitbit to be better than before,” the announcement concludes. “Please let us know if there is anything you need help finding in the Fitbit app, and we’ll be happy to help you.”

Oh, they will, Google. You can count on that.
