New PC

I’ve decided it’s time for a better desktop with a smaller form factor, especially since Windows 10 will no longer be supported in about a year. While I still wanted to keep a Windows system and move to Windows 11, my current setup includes just one desktop on my network—a large ThinkCentre workstation that I’ve upgraded as much as possible in terms of RAM and SSD, within both its limits and my budget.

So, I recently purchased a Lenovo ThinkCentre M625 Mini Desktop PC on Amazon USA. Here’s the full specs: “Lenovo ThinkCentre M625 Mini Desktop PC Black (AMD A4-9120c, 32GB RAM, 1TB PCIe SSD, AMD Radeon, AC WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1, 6 USB Ports, 2 Display Port (DP), RJ-45, Win 11 Pro) with DKZ Hub,” all for $430.

I needed the extra RAM and the compact size—it’s only about 7 inches by 7 inches—and I’m optimistic it will integrate well into my network. The CPU isn’t particularly powerful, but I’m hopeful it will meet my needs. I will find out if the 1.6 Ghz CPU is not enough. I’ll likely install Linux Mint on my old ThinkCentre.

I’ll keep you posted on how it all turns out!
