2024 Roku Ultra is Now Available for $99.99

2024 Roku Ultra

We’re a few years removed from the days Roku would revamp its streaming device lineup every September, but the company has announced a new version of its top-of-the-line streamer, the 2024 Roku Ultra.

“Over the years, the Roku Ultra has transformed living rooms into home theaters, delivering a premium viewing experience with unmatched picture and audio,” Roku’s Paul Nangeroni writes. “With each iteration of this device we have pushed innovation, introduced new updates, and taken the features we know you love to the next level. Today, we’re going even further.”

The 2024 Roku Ultra is the company’s most powerful streamer to date, obviously, with a new quad-core processor that’s optimized for the device’s 4K, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos home theater capabilities. It’s 30 percent faster than the chip in the previous generation Ultra, Roku says, and provides HDMI 2.1 support for seamless Quick Media Switching (QMS) transitions between different refresh rates and content sources on compatible Smart TVs.

And since it’s 2024, Roku is promoting the Roku Ultra’s use of AI-based machine learning to speed app switching by anticipating which app you’ll want to open next and getting it ready to load ahead of your selection. The new Roku Ultra also includes Wi-Fi 6, wired Ethernet, a voice-controlled remote finder, wireless headphone mode, and a customizable Quick launch interface.

A new Voice Remote Pro (2nd edition) is bundled with the device, providing USB-C charging and two new buttons, for Quick launch and Live TV guide. And the Roku Ultra integrates with the company’s smart home offerings, like Roku Doorbell Camera, so you can see what’s happening in your home without interrupting the viewing experience.

The 2024 Roku Ultra costs $99.99 and is available now in the U.S. and Canada at Roku.com. It will come to major retailers in the weeks ahead.
