Microsoft revealed new Game Pass games and other titles coming to Xbox consoles during its Tokyo Game Show 2024 broadcast earlier today. The company also brought some updates for Xbox Game Studios titles, and there was a nice surprise for fans of real-time strategy games.
At the beginning of the broadcast, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer, who could be seen wearing a Starcraft t-shirt (more on that later), touted Xbox’s momentum in Asia. “This year, more people are playing with Xbox across all devices in Asia than ever before, the exec said. “We’ve seen the largest number of Xbox console players in the region to date.”
During the show, Microsoft also advertised its new partnership with Amazon to make Xbox Cloud Gaming available on the company’s Fire TV sticks. For a limited time, Amazon Japan will be offering a discount on a Xbox & Fire TV Stick bundle.

On November 5, the cult-classic Starcraft: Remastered and Starcraft 2 will be added to PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. The latter will be available in the form of the StarCraft II: Campaign Collection, which includes the game’s three paid solo campaigns. Starcraft: Remastered and Stracraft 2 are the latest Activition Blizzard games to be added to Game Pass, and it looks like Microsoft is happy to release these games gradually instead of bringing the full slate all at once.
Microsoft also said today that the original Starcraft game from 1998 and the StarCraft II multiplayer mode will remain free-to-play for all PC gamers. There was no word today on a potential Xbox release, but after Microsoft released the full Age of Empires remastered series on Xbox consoles, there may be a reason to be hopeful.
To continue with RTS games, the first expansion for the freshly-released Age of Mythology: Retold has been teased today. It’s called Immortal Pillars, and it will feature a new Chinese civilization with unique God powers. While there’s no release date for the new expansion yet, it will soon be possible to wishlist it on the Microsoft Store and Steam.
The Xbox team also announced today that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, which will be released on Xbox Series X|S and PC on December 9, will be fully localized in Japanese. The game will also be released on PlayStation 5 consoles in Spring 2025.
Four new games are available on Game Pass starting today, including the new puzzle action game All You Need is Help, which is coming to Game Pass on day one. The other Game Pass additions today include the action game We Love Katamari Reroll + Royal Reverie, plus the just-released Xbox ports of Square Enix’s Trials of Mana and Legends of Mana.
Following its release on PlayStation and Nintendo Switch last year, Square Enix is finally bringing the Final Fantasy I-VI bundle on Xbox today. The anthology isn’t coming to Game Pass, and it’s priced at $59.99 on the Microsoft Store. It also supports Xbox Play Anywhere, which means that you can buy it once and play it on both Xbox and PC.
Unfortunately, there’s still no indication that Square Enix’s latest Final Fantasy games are coming to Xbox consoles. Final Fantasy XVI was recently released on PC following its PS5 launch last year, while the PS5-exclusive Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth was recently picked up by Sony to showcase the capabilities of its upcoming PlayStation 5 Pro.
The other games from today’s show you can look forward too include FragPunk, a new hero shooter with a closed beta coming on October 10. The online extraction shooter Synduality: Echo of Ada will also be released on January 24, 2025, and the Suikoden 1&2 HD Remaster is also coming to Xbox on March 6, 2025. Pre-orders for these two titles are available now.
