HP Unleashes New AI PCs for Consumers, Gamers, and Businesses

HP at CES 2025

At CES this week, HP announced a wide range of new AI-powered portable and desktop PCs across its major business segments. The firm also announced a new Thunderbolt dock, Poly Voyager headsets, and other peripherals.

Here’s what’s new.

Business and workstation PCs and peripherals

HP EliteBook Ultra G1i 14-inch. This is the Core Ultra Series 2-based successor to the EliteBook 1040 G11 I reviewed last August. It has the same basic look and feel and form factor as that laptop, but this one is a Copilot+ PC with a 9 MP webcam, a haptic touchpad, and an optional 120 Hz 3K OLED display. It will be available on HP.com later this month with prices starting at $2019.

HP EliteBook X G1i 14-inch and HP EliteBook X Flip G1i 14-inch. These are Core Ultra Series 2-based successors to the EliteBook 84x/86x series. They feature a new thermal design, come in atmospheric blue and glacier silver colors, and the latter works with an HP Rechargeable Active Pen. These PCs will be available in February and will start at $1999 and $2249, respectively.

HP ZBook Ultra G1a. This 14-inch portable workstation uses the same form factor as the EliteBook Ultra G1i above, but it’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing with its AMD Ryzen AI Max PRO processor, up to 128 GB RAM (up to 96 GB of which can be assigned to the GPU). This is possibly the HP I’m looking forward to the most in 2025. It will launch this coming Spring with pricing TBD.

HP Z2 Mini G1a. OK, maybe this is the HP I’m looking forward to the most. This gorgeous mini workstation is also powered by the AMD Ryzen AI Max PRO processor, and it features an internal power supply, multiple mounting options, and can be configured with up to 8 TB of NVMe SSD storage. Also due in Spring 2025, pricing TBD. I can’t wait.

HP Thunderbolt 4 G6 Dock. HP announced two new Thunderbolt 4 docks, one with 180 watts of power delivery and the other with 280 watts. Both feature a modern new design, LED lighting, and a nice selection of ports. The new docks arrive in April, pricing TBD.

Poly Voyager Legend 30 and 50 Series Headsets. These new Poly Bluetooth headsets rock a classic “Matrix”-era design but offer AI noise reduction on the mics and speakers and an optional wireless charging case. There are three models–the Voyager Legend 30 for $101.95, the Poly Voyager Legend 50 for $121.95, and the Poly Voyager Legend 50 UC for $261.95–and they arrive in February.

Gaming PCs and peripherals

OMEN MAX 16. This 16-inch gaming laptop can be ordered with up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 Series 2 or AMD Ryzen AI 9 mobile processor and up to 64 GB of DDR5 RAM. It features an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 series laptop GPU with NVIDIA DLSS 4 support, the first-ever use of OMEN Cryo Compound for heat dissipation, the OMEN Tempest Cooling Pro architecture, and an integrated fan cleaner, and it comes in two color options, Ceramic White and Shadow Black, with an optional front RGB light bar and per-key RGB keyboard. Prices start at $1699.99, and it will ship in the coming months.

OMEN 32x Smart Gaming Monitor. This 4K/UHD 144Hz display doubles as a smart TV with integrated Google TV. It works with game consoles, laptops, desktops, and Android phones. It will ship in April for $749.99.

HyperX Pulsefire Saga Mice. This fascinating new family of mice features several interchangeable parts so you can completely customize them, and HP even includes 3D printing files so you can make your own designs and print them at Printables.com. The Saga Mouse Pro will cost $119.99 and the Saga Pro Mouse will cost $79.99, and both ship in March.

OMEN 16L Desktop. This sleek new gaming tower PC is powered by an Intel Core Ultra Series 2 or AMD Ryzen 7 processor and up NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 7600 graphics. It has three large and efficient fans, 2 processor heat pipes, is available in Panda (white) or Shadow Black, and comes with OMEN Light Studio to further configure the look. It will ship in late February at $949.99 and up.

OMEN 16 Gaming Laptop. This 16-inch gaming laptop is powered by up to an Intel Core Ultra Series 2 or AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 processor, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 laptop graphics, 16 or 32 GB of RAM, and 512 GB or 1 TB of SSD storage. The display is WQXA (2560 x 1600) or Full HD+ (1920 x 1200), and it comes in ceramic white or shadow black with a 4-zone RGB keyboard. Prices start at $1599 with availability in March.

Consumer PCs

HP OmniDesk Desktop AI PC

This isn’t getting a lot of play online, but HP also announced a new version of the HP OmniStudio X All-in-One Desktop PC I’m currently reviewing. The new version is based on Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processors, comes in 27- and 31.5-inch variants, and will ship this month with prices starting at $1149.9. There are also new HP OmniDesk Desktop AI PCs (January, $529.99 and up) and new HP OmniDesk Slim Desktop PCs coming in March for $479.99 and up.
